Job Description
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Works from sketches and drawings, plans and installs electrical, pneumatic and instrumentation systems and components to applicable code requirements. 
  • Installs, maintains, repairs, replaces, calibrates, tests and troubleshoots all manner of instruments, electrical devices, pneumatics, valves, switches, control panels and control systems.
  • Reads and demonstrates an understanding of ladder logic, P&IDs, one-line electrical drawings, process flow diagrams, and instrument service manuals.
  • Reads, troubleshoots, identifies functions, and identifies inputs and outputs, and applications of electronic controller and control modules.
  • Uses a computer to access, read, and troubleshoot control and IO systems.  Uses handheld controllers to calibrate and troubleshoot instrumentation.
 
Job Requirements
  • Knowledge of code requirements pertaining to electrical installations
  • Ability to work overtime, rotating shifts and weekends on a regular basis
  • Have a high regard and ownership for personal safety and the safety of others
  • Controls circuit experience
  • Proven troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to perform tasks wearing required PPE such as protective clothing, safety glasses/goggles, steel-toed boots, etc.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a unionized environment
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision
 
Physical Requirements
  • Moderate to heavy physical effort
  • Capabilities include:
    • climbing stairs, ladders and catwalks
    • lifting up to 50 lbs.
    • walking
    • standing
    • working overhead
 
Education and/or Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of industrial manufacturing experience or 4 year degree or equivalent military training and experience is required.
  • High School diploma or GED is required.
