Job Description

Wanted:An experiencedVMware Engineerwith demonstrated experience in designingand developingsolutions to complex applications problems, system administration issues, or network concerns. Perform systems management and integration functions.Expertise in the design and deploymentof large enterprise server virtualization solutions.

A week in the life of aVMware Engineer:

  • Manage storage, virtualization, and Azure teams comprised of direct reports.
  • Manage a vSphere environment comprised ofESXihosts across sites, hostingthousands ofVMs.
  • ManageEnterprise Storage in data center and diverse storage devices atmanysites.
  • Manage VMs IaaS and various PaaS offerings such as Azure AD.
  • Provision, configure and decommissionvirtual machines.
  • Upgrade VMware environment from obsolete vSphere 5.5 to current vSphere 6.7U2.
  • Manage dedicated ESX vSphere environments.
  • Architect iSCSI gigabit network for VMware ESX cluster.
  • Engineer deployment and management of VMwareESXiclusters and MD3000i iSCSI SAN.
  • Guidemultiple teams within the company to repair the failing VDI environment and set in place an end-user support structure.
  • Implement security parameters for vCenter, VM Templates and Host.

Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law. Job Requirements
  • Required: a minimum of7 yearsof recent and relevantexperience.
  • Required certification: VMware Certified Professiona.
  • Preferred education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in information technology management or a related field.
  • Domain expertise:Virtualization,Operating Systems,Systems Tools, ProgrammingLanguages.
  • Technical skills:VMware vSphere 6.7, ,5.5, 5.0, 4.0,Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, Ubuntu, and Slackware,Windows Server NT4 - 2016; Windows Workgroup, Domain, Active Directory and Group Policy administration,Dell MD3000 DAS and MD300i iSCSI SAN,EMC VNX 5500, 5300 and CX4 240, 120,MySQL 3.4.5 Linux /Windows; Perl, shell scripting, CGI for webservers, C, C++, ASP.NET, PowerShell, Windows Visual Basic, JavaScript, HTML.
  • Otherpreferred certifications:VMware Certified Professional,MCSA,MCITP,MCTS.
  • Previous Transportation Security Administration (TSA) personnel clearance preferred but not required.
  • Prior experience with and knowledge of TSA's mission priorities, systems, and applications preferred but not required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to coordinate across large groups of people at multiple levels.
