We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our diverse team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and enabling Blue Origin's vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth.

As part of a diverse and hardworking team of engineers and designers, you will work in Configuration Design of the Cargo Delivery Element (CDE), reporting directly to the CDE Senior Manager. You will serve as a critical team member driving forward the CDE configuration, including the vehicle's physical layout, mechanical and analog interfaces, and overall subsystem integration design. Your role requires leading cross-functional design trades and analyses, along with supporting vehicle mass optimization and the overall Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) mission architecture design efforts. As an integrated team member of the National Team, you will assist systems engineering in driving mass properties and interface control, requirements and interfaces generation, technical performance metrics definition and tracking vehicle design and analysis maturity, manufacturing and test planning, and verification, validation, and certification of the CDE. Those systems products that you will be responsible for developing will provide Lunar Transportation lander vehicles with Cargo Accommodations products to enable unprecedented crew and mass to surface capabilities.

As an SLD Systems Engineer working Configuration Design, you will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners and Human-class Cargo providers as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) SLD program. You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth.

We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!
