Job Description

Position Summary

As a Maintenance Subject Matter Technician (SMT), you will provide expert knowledge in troubleshooting and repair in all facility, utility, and production equipment. You will also be responsible in training other mechanics in troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance tasks.

  • DAY SHIFT - 5 Day, 8 hour shift 6AM-2PM.
  • Part of the maintenance team responsible for facility, utility, and production equipment repair and maintenance for a 24/7 based packaging plant.
  • Report health/safety hazards to immediate supervisor or EHS Department and make appropriate repairs
  • Use proper lockout/tag-out/try-out, confined space, and hot work permits to maintain a safe environment and comply with EHS regulatory procedures.
  • Perform all work in accordance with GMP's, housekeeping, good safety practices, and environmental regulations.
  • Perform repair and preventative maintenance on facility, utility, and production equipment.
  • Provide training for other mechanics in repair and preventive maintenance of facility, utility, and production equipment.
  • Perform work in a self-directed manner, including foreseeing the need for work and ensuring that the work is completed.
  • Utilize CMMS (Maximo) in documenting work orders and capturing part usage.
  • Initiate requests for required tools, parts, and materials and maintain accountability for tools issued.
  • Provide recommendations for equipment upgrades and modifications, as well as mechanical safety procedures.
  • Provide recommendations for changes to equipment maintenance plans and part inventory requirements.
  • Support change initiatives and continuous improvement efforts, to include PM Audits, PM Review and PM Updating
  • Support Root Cause Analysis of machine equipment failures so that corrective actions are taken to prevent the problem from reoccurring.
