Quality Engineering Co-Op/Intern Metal Lab

PURPOSE: The Quality Engineering Co-Op performs Quality Engineering functions and assists the Quality Engineering team. Works with Lab Engineering staff on projects/tasks that support the Carson City plant and is responsible for reliability improvement, productivity improvement, and process development projects as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the Engineering Team when needed.
  • Materials testing.
  • Inventory control - Metal Lab Inventory
  • Recommends modifications to improve reliability and productivity within the lab.
  • Works with management to develop solutions to recurring problems. *
  • Manages multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Reports to Quality Manager

Qualifications

  • Engineering Major. Sophomore, Junior, or Senior year level college/university student*
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and/or Solid Works preferred*
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work cooperatively with others*
  • Proactive communicator who can clearly articulate results and needs across all levels*
  • Ability to manage projects with competing deadlines* Strong attention to detail*
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously* Initiative-taking.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35lbs.

Desired working hours

  • Office hours are 7:30am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday. This position is expected to work a minimum of 20 hours a week during office hours. Schedule is flexible to accommodate studies.

Pay

  • Engineer Co-Op Range - $17.75 to $26.50 (Starting pay will vary and is evaluated by reviewing experience, training, and education.)
