PCTEL, RF Solutions, a leading provider of high performance digital Scanning Receivers and RF data collection systems used by wireless network operators worldwide, is seeking a qualified Project Manager to join our Engineering team.
Provides cross organizational leadership within RFSG in facilitating and driving development projects from inception through to completion. Leads, facilitates and drives development projects within the unit that result in the successful launching to market of new products and enhancements to existing products. To coordinate and oversee multiple project schedules and budgets from initiation trough product delivery, by managing schedules and resources (people, equipment, material, etc.) among multiple design engineering projects spanning the various disciplines necessary for product delivery. Also, to coordinate all inputs and outputs from the different functional groups (operations, marketing, engineering, etc).
Job Functions

Manages and facilitates all activities necessary to take a product from concept to production including, engineering requirements development, system architecture definition, design, prototyping, requirements verification and validation, manufacturing/factory support, and customer support of the end product in the field

Works in partnership with other functional areas, subcontractors, suppliers, and contract manufacturers, ensuring that everyone understands, and is on board with, project objectives and can deliver on time, within budget, and meeting requirements.

Exercises judgment and significant project management experience and domain knowledge to determine best methods for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. Leads all activities to ensure that scope, schedule, budget and quality expectations are met.

Manages resources (people with discipline manager or section head, equipment, material, etc.) among multiple design engineering projects spanning following disciplines: hardware, firmware, DSP, software, test/QA, procurement/materials, manufacturing, publications, marketing/sales, customer support

Reduce project schedules, expedite critical paths and preemptively remove issues that delay project execution.

Insure projects follows the ISO process and ISO documentation is kept up-to-date.

Generate various management reports using tools such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Project.

Train and mentor staff in the area of Project Management

Coordinating support to sales among different functional groups

Review and sign-off purchase orders, quotes and proposals
Educational/Training Requirements

Bachelors of Science Degree preferably in an Engineering Field

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred

Minimum five years related work experience

Advance experience managing projects
-
Advance experience leading cross-functional teams to product delivery

Advance experience providing guidance/advice to Project Managers

Advanced experience receiving assignments in the form of objectives

Advanced experience with MS Project, and MS Office

Intermediate experience with budgeting and project tracking techniques

Intermediate experience introducing/improving processes and documenting them

Intermediate verbal and written communication skills in the English language

Intermediate skills interacting with various groups, individual contributors, and sales personnel especially program management, sales support, and project team members

Intermediate skills interacting with contracting firms for outsourced development work
-
Basic understanding of designing systems/products with hardware, DSP and software
-
Basic knowledge of cellular communications

Basic knowledge of the ISO9001:2000
