Description

The Sr. Reporting/Data Analyst is responsible for providing independent analytical and technical business support for major projects and/or initiatives. Under the direction of the Manager, Sr. Reporting/Data Analyst is responsible for researching, analyzing, and compiling usable data for measuring and monitoring performance. Intermediate will perform independent analyses, develop reports, present results, and make workable recommendations. Act as program/policy specialist to assist with other assignments and initiatives as required. Collaborates with all staff levels to obtain project and/or high-level design requirements.

Essential Functions:
* Independently gathers data, determines report requirements, develops complex detailed reports
* Independently analyzes compiles and trends data into meaningful results to assist department in identifying opportunities for improvement.
* Independently designs, develops and maintains data repositories (e.g. MS-Access DB)
* Independently develops and manages complex narrative and quantitative reports
* Independently researches and collects complex information needed to complete project milestones and/or reports
* Coordinates tasks within the department including the preparation of reports and/or data repository documentation
* Provides system database administrator services: obtain and manage system access for appropriate employees, trouble-shoot database and system problems for issue resolution, etc.
* Coordinates audit responses with MSSA SOX representatives.
* Provides technical expertise in evaluating, developing, and implementing various aspects of security standards for the Diamond platform
* Creates, analyze and produce meaningful forecast reports
* Contributes to the design of new, innovative applications, web, and media by providing functional requirements and application testing
* Identifies opportunities for increasing business efficiency through accurate and improved automation processes and reporting capabilities (i.e. efficient reporting)
* Acts as a Systems Administrator of new automation tools (e.g. ATU)
* Supports and provides all levels of proficient training on basic Microsoft Windows 2003/2008 applications.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare or other applicable field, or 4 years of equivalent work experience
* 10 years of administrative and operational support within a specific functional level with increasing scope and discretion
* Minimal 5 years with expert knowledge of Microsoft Access experience
* Minimal 5 years in healthcare/payer industry
* Minimal 5 years experience with data repository design and maintenance
* Minimal 5 years with database administration and complex reporting analysis
* 1-2 years system implementation/configuration and claims processing

Preferred Qualifications:
* Minimal 2 years experience with Photoshop, Macromedia Dreamweaver, and web development and maintenance
* Experience with SQL, Oracle, Crystal Reports
