Our National Security Division is currently seeking a Protection Operations Specialist IV. This position is located in Arlington, VA.
DESCRIPTION
Selected applicant will be responsible for supporting a Planning and Program Management team in the Washington, DC area. Support will involve the planning and development of physical security requirements related to government facilities. Responsibilities will include analyzing, planning and managing the facilitation and execution of physical security requirements in government facilities located in the National Capital Region. Additional responsibilities will include the support of preparedness activities, training of security and emergency management personnel, and analysis of physical security statistics to formulate and refine security procedures. The position will require the applicant to have excellent written and verbal skills and to be able to work and contribute as a member of a team. The successful candidate must be a U.S. citizen and either have a current top secret security clearance.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Conducts in-depth Physical Security Vulnerability Assessments; all phases of construction inspection of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs), determines the adequacy and completeness of complex Physical Security Inspections; helps develop security guidelines; analyzes and resolves complex physical security issues.
2. Demonstrates mastery of a wide range of security disciplines, concepts, principles and requirements to include: Physical Security, Information, Personnel and Industrial Security, and Security Education & Training. Familiar with a myriad of security Executive Orders, DCID 6/9, DCID 1/21, DoD Dir 5200.1-R, DoD Dir 5200 2-R, DoD Dir 5200.08-R, Army Regulation 380-5 and AR 190-16, and the Unified Facilities Criteria guidance.
3. Solid understanding of applicable laws, executive orders, government regulations, and customer and/or company policies pertaining to the Physical Security program. Ensures analytical research and studies of a pioneering nature to develop new methods, procedures, techniques, and approaches to physical security systems to include access controls, vehicle and pedestrian barriers, locks and keys, badges and passes, inventory control, postings (signs), and protective forces are adhered; as well as Open Storage Secret (OSS) Certification for over 100 open/closed storage OSS; accompanied with construction drawing reviews using mechanical and electrical blueprints, architectural rendering and schematics for entire construction project.
4. Leads and/or supports the development, implementation and/or operations of client security and protection programs through independent tasks and/or project assignments.
5. Develops, initiates, and/or completes research tasks in support of operational defense protection projects/tasks. Conducts requirements analysis and capabilities assessments.
6. Conducts protection-related planning, to include but not limited to strategic plans, operations plans, emergency management, capability/technology roadmaps in support of the client and with oversight by senior technical personnel.
7. May review protection-related plans for regulatory, legal and technical compliance.
8. May conduct coordination with Federal, State, Tribal, Regional, Local, Service International, and/or Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) in support of clients.
9. May lead and/or support development of hazard threat, vulnerability, consequence, and/or response capability assessments.
10. May conduct and/or develop report(s) of all hazard threat, vulnerability, consequence, and/or response capability assessments.
11. May lead and/or support development, review, and/or comment on readiness evaluation tasks, conditions, standards, measures, and/or criteria.
12. May lead and/or support development of training, exercise, and/or readiness evaluation tasks, to include exercise development, execution, and evaluation components.
13. May conduct and/or support protection operational assessments in support of client, to include but not limited to military operations, force protection, installation protection, homeland security, and antiterrorism activities.
14. May provide guidance on the selection, employment, maintenance, sustainment, issue, and/or use of protection-related equipment with the appropriate personal experience and certification.
15. May provide technical leadership on small to moderate-scale projects.

THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:
1. Requires a Post-Graduate Degree with five to seven years of experience in a protection related field or a Bachelors Degree and a minimum of eight years of experience in a protection related field.
2. Must demonstrate excellent writing, speaking, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
3. Proficient knowledge and experience required of Microsoft Office products (MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint), Microsoft Internet Explorer, and Adobe Acrobat Reader.
4. Must be willing to travel inside of the United States and foreign travel overseas and in North America.
5. Must have and maintain a minimum of a DoD Top Secret Clearance or equivalent for work with supported clients.
THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION:
1. Doctoral degree.
2. Current DoD Top Secret Security-SCI Clearance.
3. Previous Military or Government critical infrastructure or preparedness experience.
4. Project management experience and/or a current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
5. Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification
6. Team oriented and possesses the ability to work closely with other team members.
7. Detail oriented with the ability to work under deadlines.
